NHS Long Term Plan Focus Group Barnsley Macular Society

As part of our Engagement work on the NHS Long Term Plan we wanted to make sure that we captured the voice of as many residents as possible, especially the ones from seldom heard groups.

The group told us that 200 people a day in the UK are diagnosed with macular disease and it is important that services are in place to meet this demand. They felt that the Ophthalmology Department at Barnsley Hospital is one of the busiest areas in the hospital and the group shared some of their experiences with us and what they hoped would change or be considered with the Long Term Plan.

There was lots of suggestions about other partners becoming involved to provide a holistic service to the patient. To find out more about what was said download a copy of our report.
