Find out what we're working on

Everything we do is guided by what people tell us about their experiences, concerns and ideas on health and social care.

If it matters to you, it's likely that it matters to someone else too.

Find out more about our current projects and how you can get involved.

How to access your GP practice team

We are working on a document about access to care.  This document will tell you who you can access at your local GP practice and how to get the best service.  There is also useful information about your local hospital and emergency service team.

We'll upload the document as soon as it is finished, so keep a look out!

Tell us about your Adult Social Care experiences in our survey

We recently ran a survey to find out about the experiences of working age disabled people and how they access and use social care in Barnsley.

We'll upload a report on our findings, as soon as we can.  So keep a look out!

How accessible is the SWYPFT Website

Healthwatch Barnsley were commissioned by South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust to provide a review of the Trust website. This was carried out by using focus groups to review content, provide feedback and identify improvements. We wanted to capture general access feedback alongside people with learning disabilities, autism and ADHD. We contacted local groups to see if we were able to go along to their groups and go through an activity and short survey to gain some feedback.

Unfortunately, due to tight timescales, we were not able to arrange this with individual groups. We booked two half-day sessions in the IT Suite at Barnsley Library, located in the Glass Works Square (taking advantage of the good transport links and heavy footfall).

We'll upload a report on our findings, as soon as we can.  So keep a look out!
