Barnsley FC’s Official Charity sees name change
The decision comes after the organisation comes through a transitional period and this exciting change reflects the mission and values the charity hope to achieve going forward.
As the charitable arm of Barnsley FC, we work tirelessly to deliver charitable and community activities across all areas of the Borough. Our reach is extensive, engaging between eight thousand and ten thousand beneficiaries each season, spanning an age range from two to hundred years old.
At Barnsley FC Community Trust, we believe in the power of sport, and community to transform lives. Through our focused delivery in key areas such as Health and Wellbeing, Education and Employability, Inclusion and Participation, we strive to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and the community.
Head of Foundation at Barnsley FC Community Trust Kieron Campbell said:
“It is with excitement that we are able to release our new name, Barnsley FC Community Trust. This is something that we have been in discussions with the Football Club around for a number of months to enhance the one club, one community commitment. As an independent charity, we are proud to deliver community and charitable activities on behalf of the Football Club and although we have changed our name, we continue to drive forward with our mission of using the power of Barnsley Football Club to inspire, improve and positively change lives in our community.
Barnsley FC director Julie Anne Quay added:
“Barnsley Fc was founded with Community at its core. This announcement today confirms an alignment between us that further strengthens our goal and commitment to work together for the people of Barnsley who need us the most. Coming together as one allows us to use the strengths of each to continue to build on the foundation already set by the incredible team at the Trust”
