About this event
Hygiene poverty can be shaming, humiliating and can result in social isolation. Leading to a lack of confidence and negatively affecting good health and mental well-being. This can also impact early childhood development, learning, social interaction and employability in later life.
Living on a low income limits our options and leaves us caught between the choice of paying the rent, heating the home, eating or keeping clean.
Join Healthwatch Barnsley as we host a Hygiene Poverty event to help people who can't afford everyday hygiene products most of us take for granted.
They'll be plenty of advice on hand from us and other Barnsley services like BMBC Public Health who will be doing blood pressure checks and giving advice, Community Stop Smoking service, Spectrum, Community Dental Service and more.
We've also got some freebies too!
