Have you heard about Resolute Women's Support Services?

Supporting women to find their strength, determination and dignity after the traumatic effects of domestic abuse and violence.

Resolute provides a long term support service that helps women regain control over there lives. We offer face to face group meetings where women can have a safe space and talk to other women who have had their own experiences with domestic abuse/violence. We know exactly how it feels and want to support each other.

We also have a WhatsApp and Facebook group for when support is needed even outside of meetings. One to one support is offered at the start of a victims journey because we understand how difficult it can be to come into a group environment.

We also work alongside other organisations that provide support such as; children's services, counselling, therapy, benefits, housing, food banks, workshops, getting back into work and education. Resolute is a growing organisation that is going from strength to strength and is determined to make the change by filling in gaps that other services don't offer while giving victims a voice.

Dealing with the trauma domestic abuse/violence leaves a women with is terrifying. Many women experience feelings of; loneliness, anxiety, depression and PTSD. We want to help you through your recovery so you can find peace alongside a happy life free from abuse violence.

Domestic abuse is a huge issue that has an equally massive effect on society.

Domestic abuse:

  • Will affect 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men in their lifetime

  • Leads to, on average, two women being murdered each week and 30 men per year

  • Accounts for 16% of all violent crime (Source: Crime in England and Wales 04/05 report), however it is still the violent crime least likely to be reported to the police

  • Has more repeat victims than any other crime (on average there will have been 35 assaults before a victim calls the police)

  • Is the single most quoted reason for becoming homeless (Shelter, 2002)

  • In 2010 the Forced Marriage Unit responded to 1735 reports of possible Forced Marriages.

In addition, approximately 400 people commit suicide each year who have attended hospital for domestic abuse injuries in the previous six months, 200 of these attend hospital on the day they go on to commit suicide.
