Simple steps to keep you safe during your hospital stay
The NHS England National Patient Safety Team has produced a new video and leaflet for patients, providing tips and advice on simple things to keep safe during a hospital stay.

The video and leaflet objectives are to:
- Empower patients to be involved in their own safety while in hospital
- Raise awareness amongst patients of common patient safety risks during a hospital stay
- Educate patients on how they can keep safe
The video and leaflet cover the following issues:
- Asking for help if you don’t understand
- Hospital wristbands
- Allergies
- Medicines
- Blood clots
- Pressure ulcers
- Falls
- Infection control
- Discharge information
